Micro surfacing is a mixture of polymerized bitumen emulsion, specially graded fine aggregates, cement, water and necessary additives, mixed homogeneously on site in a special Micro-surfacing machine , uniformly spread immediately over a properly prepared surface evenly by means of a spreader box attached behind the machine. It is an environment friendly cold mix application treatment applied over an existing pavement surface which is structurally sound, but the surface shows signs of premature ageing, aggregate loss, cracking, high degree of polishing etc. Micro surfacing helps in preservation of pavement strength and can be used both for preventive and periodic renewal treatment
